We are a well-established amateur orchestra who play multiple concerts every year. KO was founded over half a century ago to provide opportunities for amateur musicians of all ages to play a wide variety of orchestral repertoire.
We are a welcoming and friendly community with an active social calendar, and are always looking for new members and opportunities.
Philip is a passionate and enthusiastic professional orchestral and choral conductor, countertenor, pianist and trombonist. He is principal conductor of the Trowbridge Symphony Orchestra, the Silver Ring Choir of Bath and guest conductor of the West Mendip Symphony Orchestra.
Jane has been playing in Keynsham Orchestra ever since moving to Keynsham in 1996. She loves playing in the friendly orchestra on her doorstep and feels lucky to play with such high quality musicians in her home town.
We are grateful to Keynsham Town Council for their continuing support.
Also to Keynsham and North East Somerset Twinning Organisation for help with our French twinning activities.
In 2009 the orchestra needed to purchase a new trailer to transport our percussion instruments. Enough money was raised and we would like to thank the following organisations for their donations and grants:
Quartet Community Foundation
Keynsham Community Association
Keynsham Town Council
Bristol Concert Orchestra
We are also very grateful to all who gave personal donations as well as our audience members who supported the campaign by participating in our summer concert raffles.
